    Kaksi kitaraa. Neljä kättä. Yksi mieli, yksi yhtenäinen sointi. Jazzkitaristit Janne Mikkonen ja Pekka Sirola esittävät sylillisen bebopiin ja post-bopiin pohjautuvaa jazzmusiikkia. Duon soitossa yhdistyvät eteerinen herkkyys, harmoninen ennakkoluulottomuus, kuulas sointi sekä pohjoisen luonnon avaruus. Tulkinnassa on kuultavissa myös dynaamisia kaikuja jazzin perinteistä. Duon ohjelmisto koostuu Janne Mikkosen ja Pekka Sirolan omista sävellyksistä sekä tarkoin valituista jazzstandardeista.

    Riitta Paakki Quartet 7.11.2019 Lappian Musiikkitalolla klo 19

    Pianisti Riitta Paakin viimeisimmässä kvartetissa yhdistyy neljän suomalaisen huippumuusikon yksilölliset tyylit ja soundit. Manuel Dunkelin tenorisaksofoni täydentää Paakin soittoa hienovaraisesti. Rytmisektiossa Kaisa Mäensivun basso ja Joonas Riipan rummut luovat jykevän perustan Paakin hard-bop-vaikutteisille sävellyksille.

    Riitta Paakki Quartetin ilmeikäs ja värikäs sointi syntyy muusikkojen välisestä vuorovaikutuksesta. Paakin sävellysten lisäksi yhtye tuo pöytään harvinaisia 60-luvun hard-bop-aarteita, luoden ajan ja paikan hämärtävän kokonaisuuden, jossa on jotain vanhaa, jotain uutta, jotain amerikkalaista ja jotain sinivalkoista.
